Romo Foundation was born from Jorge and Maria Romo’s shared belief that art, culture, and education can create lasting change. What began as a personal commitment to giving back has grown into a platform that brings together artists, organizations, institutions, and partners to open doors and strengthen communities in Houston and beyond.

Culture That Lives On

 

It is important to us to support projects that do not

simply exist in the present, but leave behind a cultural

legacy, create opportunities for future generations, and

help culture continue to live and evolve. The role of

cultural foundations goes far beyond simply supporting

the arts, it has become a matter of preserving cultural

heritage. When something can be physically destroyed

or lost, our responsibility is to do everything possible to

ensure that it continues to live on through books,

publications, exhibitions, collections, archives, new

projects, and in the memory of future generations.

Today, it is especially important that part of this work happens on an international level, in places where we can safely preserve, publish, and present Ukrainian culture to new audiences. Ukraine is not only what the world sees in the news today. Behind it are centuries of history, art, literature, traditions, and an extraordinarily strong cultural identity.
